
The ashes of Fiorentina’s undeserved Champions League exit are still fuming but that doesn’t mean the media hasn’t started to speculate over coach Cesare Prandelli’s future.
The respected tactician has been doing a stellar job since his arrival in Firenze, culminating with the spanking of Liverpool this year. Unfortunately, Fiorentina’s positive Champions play isn’t working in Serie A. Maybe this explains all the rumours circulating that Cesare’s cycle in Florence might be coming to an end soon.
Some even suggest he could be sacked before the end of the season if the Della Valle get confirmation of his departure but I doubt it. Worst case scenario, Prandelli definitely has options. Voices suggest Juventus have all but locked in Cesare for the 2010-11 Season. Prandelli, born in Brescia, played 89 games for Juve between 1979 and 1985 and has been linked with Torino for a little while and we all know Alberto Zaccheroni is nothing but a temp

And if ever the Juventus spot gets taken by a certain Marcello Lippi, I’m positive Prandelli will be thoroughly interviewed by the FIGC. Some media outlets claim that there’s already a two year contract lined up for Prandelli.
This whole situation reminds me a little bit of the Spalletti scenario ; After a bitter defeat in the Champions League against Arsenal something seemed to have changed. However, I’m pretty positive if ever Prandelli leaves Fiorentina it will be done in his image, with class.
